Kevin Gilbert

Music Director

Kevin Gilbert serves as the Music Director for Heritage Baptist Church. He also teaches music and choir in the school.

While attending a church in Mount Holly, NJ, Kevin was just 5 years old when his Sunday School teacher, Miss Linda, told the class about Jesus, about how much He loved them and wanted them to be with Him in Heaven when they died. Later that day, Kevin talked with his mom about salvation, and she led him to the Lord. As a teenager he struggled with doubt, but at age 17 he finally got full assurance of his salvation.

Kevin married his wife, Victoria, in 2017 and she serves with him in the music ministry at Heritage.

He is a graduate of Ambassador Bible College in Lattimore, NC where he earned degrees in Bible, music, and missions. While attending college, Kevin served in the youth ministry and music ministry at the college and in his local church. He taught piano and violin, served in weekend music extension ministries encouraging local churches, and helped with a church plant, Every Nation Baptist Church, in the inner city of Charlotte. Kevin moved to Woodbridge in August of 2011 when he joined the staff of Heritage.

When able, Kevin loves swimming and cycling, attending concerts, and traveling. He has recently enjoyed reading, “Forward in the Face of Fear”, the biography of Edgar Feghaly.

God has given Kevin the passion to be an encourager like Barnabas. In the music ministry, his desire is to help others have a passion for Christ-honoring music that will help them to have a greater love for our Savior, Jesus Christ. “He is to be preeminent in our entire lives, especially our worship. May every song cause us all to reflect about the love of our Savior.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
