Josh Nicholson

Youth Director

Josh Nicholson serves as an assistant to Pastor Carpenter. He is also Youth Director for the senior teens.

Josh was raised in a Christian home and attended Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC. As a lot of young people do, he struggled with his salvation from an early age, never knowing for sure that Jesus Christ was his personal Lord and Savior. On February 5, 1992, at the age of 11, he was attending a bus ministry conference and guest speaker, Wallie Beebe, brought a convicting message entitled, “God’s Three Deadlines.” With that message, Josh fell under heavy conviction and that night he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior once and for all. “Amen!”

He and his wife, Amber, have been married for 15 years and have one daughter, Jenna, age 12.

In his early years Josh served in various youth, bus, camp, and nursing home ministries in his local church, as well as participating in the church choir. He and Amber moved to Woodbridge in 2014 as Amber joined the teaching staff at Heritage Christian School. Josh came on staff in 2018. He is continuing his education, auditing classes through West Coast Baptist College and Veritas.

When he is not serving at church or hitting the books, Josh enjoys saltwater fishing, the beach, and experiencing new places especially those of historical significance.

Prayerfully, God has given Josh a passion to be used by Him to see teenagers saved and growing spiritually. In whatever way He calls them to, to live their lives completely and wholly dedicated to Him, serving Him as they serve others.

Deuteronomy 31:16 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
